Success with our Latest Permitted Development Project
This project focused on converting part of an existing office building within a Conservation Area into a new dwelling, while retaining space for the original offices. It builds on a previously approved scheme that included new windows and door openings, to allow sufficient daylight into the new dwelling as required for a permitted development conversion. Careful negotiation with the Conservation Officer paid dividends! Do you have an office building that is surplus to requ

We had a fantastic networking event at our office!
It was wonderful to bring together friends and colleagues from across the property world for some gentle networking and learning about the latest planning news and the history of our Tudor period office. Adam Hieke gave guests a guided tour, revealing the secrets of oak framed construction, the origin of the terms “top dog” and “under dog” and showing off the apotropaic marks we revealed at Halloween! 🎃🏛️ Happy Halloween from Nye Saunders! 🏛️🎃
This Halloween, we’re celebrating the spooky side of architecture! Did you know that many historic buildings hide apotropaic marks, mysterious carvings once believed to ward off spirits? 🧙♀️✨ The image shows extensive taper burns discovered in an attic space during a recent site visit. These ancient symbols could be seen as the original architectural “security systems,” offering protection from the spectral forces. For those joining our gathering next month with Pelham
