Tour of 2023 RIBA National Awards Winning Home

Here at Nye Saunders we are always willing to go the extra mile to understand our clients’ influences and produce a design that accords with their vision. A recent Surrey Branch RIBA organised tour enabled one of our architects to take a first hand look at a property which has elements our clients are keen to incorporate into their own project.

The property is a low energy family home within a Conservation Area, tipping its hat to the influences of the Arts & Crafts movement and espousing the Surrey vernacular style. It replaces a former interwar bungalow on the site.

Bespoke timber elements and rigorous architectural detailing coupled with exceptional craftsmanship have carefully followed the client’s brief and the finished project was a 2023 RIBA National Award winner.

Many thanks to Niall Maxwell of Rural Office for Architecture for conducting the fascinating tour.
