Approved as Inspecting Architects for Quinquennial Inspections by the Diocese of Portsmouth

We are excited to announce that Mike Staff and Adam Hieke have both been approved as Inspecting Architects for Quinquennial Inspections by the Diocese of Portsmouth. Having both worked with the Diocese of Guildford for many years they are looking forward to expanding their portfolio with this exciting opportunity.

Parishes are required by law to have the fabric of their church buildings and churchyards inspected by a suitably qualified architect every five years… this is known as the ‘Quinquennial Inspection’. The work of inspecting and looking after churches and other parish buildings is a very specialised one which involves many aspects of professional knowledge.

Currently Mike is the appointed architect on over fifty churches in addition to working on numerous conservation and historic buildings projects. Adam also works with over 30 churches and is also a member of the Guildford Diocesan Advisory Committee (DAC) for the Care of Churches and Churchyards, which advises the Chancellor when making decisions on granting Faculties for any changes within a church.
