Planning consent obtained for two detached houses in Loxwood

We are delighted that planning permission has been granted for two detached houses in Loxwood, West Sussex. Our client already had consent to build two single storey barn type homes, but they now wished to replace one with a more traditional two storey cottage, more in keeping with the vernacular of a Sussex farm cottage. The second unit will remain in appearance as a timber boarded agricultural building but enlarged by the elongation of the living room wing to provide more balanced accommodation.

Nye Saunders carried out a Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment of the site from the surrounding area, in order to demonstrate that the proposed larger houses would not have any significant impact on the views from the wider countryside. Planning permission was granted under delegated powers by the planning officer at Chichester District Council, without the need to go to Planning Committee.
