NEW BUILD FAMILY HOME

Plaistow, West Sussex

Nye Saunders worked with Nicholls Countryside Construction to create a new family home in the West Sussex countryside.  The brief for a private client, called for a house which appeared as an authentic Victorian farmhouse.  Timber sash windows and handmade bricks in Flemish Bond with gauged brick arches complete the look.

The site had planning permission for a bungalow granted many years previously, and we worked with Chichester District Council planners to improve upon the consent and create a three storey dwelling with detached garage.  As part of the process Nye Saunders carried out a Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment to demonstrate that the house would not be visually intrusive in the landscape.

Having obtained planning approval, the consent was amended through a Section 73 application to make use of the roof space as habitable accommodation and increase the floor area.  Nye Saunders also produced a package of working drawings for the developer client.
