Nye Saunders with their experience on ecclesiastical; buildings and previous work at the school, were asked to assist the Headmaster and Governing Body in developing designs for a new seating gallery.

 

The gallery was to support a new pipe organ which a school benefactor wished to commission on behalf the school. The opportunity was also taken to refurbish the interior of the chapel.  We came up with a design of a curved seating gallery to both locate the organ and also provide additional seating to enable all the school to be accommodated in chapel.

The second phase of works under construction in 2016, involved pew removal, new seating and new stone flooring whilst retaining some of the original Victorian Henry Woodyer decorative tiled pavements.
