Katherine Coles
BA (Hons.), M.Arch.
PART II ARCHITECTURAL ASSISTANT

Katherine is a familiar face at Nye Saunders, having worked with us for a year after her undergraduate degree, and returning after completing her masters at the University of Portsmouth. She chose to study architecture to combine her strengths in maths and creativity.

Katherine loves the variety of challenges involved in architecture – from getting a floor plan to flow to the planning approval process. It’s a role with huge variety and demonstrates the way in which architects do so much more than ‘just’ design buildings – we’re here to design landscapes and spaces and optimise the way people use the buildings they live and work in.

Katherine uses her weekends to indulge in photography, often taking long walks to find the perfect shot. She also enjoys playing video games… so much so that she focused her dissertation on how architecture in the Fallout game series affects player emotions!
