David Evelyn Nye & Partners was set up after the Second World War, during the two decades of work of that Practice, a reputation was built up based upon a broad range of work but in particular, expertise on church designs & surveyorships, cinemas and historic building conservation and repairs.
In 1971 the Practice of Nye, Saunders and Partners was formed by the merger of David Evelyn Nye & Partners with A.E.F. Saunders and Associates. Arthur Saunders being similarly based in Guildford and with a record of similar work, especially expertise in Church and historic building conservation.
In 2000 the practice moved into their current premises, a 16th Century Grade 2 Listed timber frame office building in the centre of Godalming.
Nye Saunders & Partners is a long established Architectural Practice offering a full range of architectural services; with particular specialist experience in conservation of historic buildings and the design of new buildings within a historic context, school design, ecclesiastical design and bespoke and developer housing.
We offer a personal and flexible approach to the great variety of architectural projects with which we are involved, the Partners maintaining a day-to-day involvement in the running of each job. We particularly pride ourselves on a commitment to high quality design, as well as in our graphical presentation of architectural concepts at both design development and contract stages. At all times we are aware of the need to control programmes of work and within budgets, both prior to a start on site and especially during the course of the building contract.
As members of the S.P.A.B., we endeavour to ever increase our knowledge of conservation techniques and awareness of conservation issues by attendance on repair courses, conservation days etc. The Practice is committed to the RIBA's policy on Continuing Professional Development.
